doll maker

Mama was an incredible doll maker.
The red headed little imp is "Pumuckel" -- based on a popular children's book character.
And in the other picture, you can see "Pan".
For both dolls, Mama molded and painted head, hands and feet herself, sewed/knitted body and clothing, and made the things that go with each character: Pan's flute, and hidden in Pumuckels' waistband, a little sling shot. Mama always paid very close attention to detail.

Hello, you once wrote on my blog to comment on a relationship I'm still trying to revive today. I didn't know how to contact you more privately to say thank you. Despite not making any progress, I still felt the need to thank you for your words.

Coincidentally, when I was a small child, Pumuckel was one of my favorite characters introduced to me in school in Germany.

I believe I am about 18 years your junior, to put the timeline in perspective.

Feel free to delete this post, because I do not with to detract from the memory of your mother in any way.

Thank you-- Amadeus.
